American Committee on Africa

The ACOA's mission was to dismantle the apartheid system of racial segregation, advocating for the divestment of stock in companies doing business in apartheid-era South Africa. Under the leadership of exiled South African journalist Jennifer Davis, the ACOA actively worked on women's voter education drive, with the goal of electing Nelson Mandela, South Africa's first Black president in 1994.

Advocacy + Representation

Over the years, I’ve been deeply involved in mentorship and professional development programs, both within the agencies for whom I’ve worked, as well as in the wider production industry. 

Foundational to my production point of view is an intentional focus on representation in front and behind the camera. 

As a LGBTQ+ professional, I personally understand the importance of being seen and included as a key element to creating effective communications.

Environmental initiatives

2007-2009 GLASS | Give A Glass, Co-Founder with MiShawn Williams

Working directly with the Los Angeles advertising and production community, we developed initiatives around decreasing our environmental impact, by drastically reducing use of single-use plastic water bottles from film sets and post-production facilities.
